Chessington Confirms Paw Patrol Area

In a press release and announcement on their website today Chessington World of Adventures has confirmed that the new land which will replacing Mexicana in 2026 will be themed to Paw Patrol with character meet-and-greets starting this year.

What did the announcement say?

The announcement from Chessington confirmed the rumoured Paw Patrol theme for the area and additionally confirmed a picnic area, shop and food outlet also coming to the land.

The concept art shows 5 things worth talking about:

Paw Patrol Roller coaster

The key part of the announcement shows that the junior coaster will be themed to Paw Patrol. The artwork shows red track and a blue train and I expect we’ll see a character on the zero car.

Paw Patrol Bus

We already knew the bus ride from Wild Asia was coming to the new area and the artwork seems to confirm that it will be retimed to the fire truck (can you tell I’ve never seen Paw Patrol?!)

Paw Patrol Balloon Ride

The original planning permission showed a balloon-style ride from Zamperla and today’s concept art suggests this will be themed around the Paw Patrol ‘Skye’ vehicle

Hovercraft Themed Ride

The 4th image on the artwork shows the hovercraft vehicle from the show and so I think we’ll see some kind of water-themed ride with that vehicle. If it wasn’t for Zamperla likely being the manufacturer for this ride I’d be expecting a jet-ski ride like in Plopsa de Panne. I guess we’ll wait and see!

Tower and Slide

Finally, the artwork shows a tower with slide running around it would suggests we’ll also be getting a small play area or at least a slide in this area.

Final Thoughts

With construction already underway on this new area it’s great to see Chessington getting plenty of investment and replacing the SBNO Scorpion Express however, I’m still disappointed that we’re seeing more IPs come to the park over unique themes and, with Minecraft set to take over Wild Asia for 2027 I think we’ll see Chessington become Chessington World of IPs.
