Getting to Efteling and Toverland from Eindhoven

Eindhoven is a city in the Netherlands which is easy to get to by air and has some great, affordable hotels you can stay in. The city also has a fantastic food hall in the form of the Down Town Gourmet Market and some great places to enjoy a drink too.

On top of that it’s also a city that allows you to access Efteling and Toverland via public transport and is a great base if you wish to visit these two parks without making the drive out there or hiring a car.

Getting to Efteling from Eindhoven

Efteling is a bucked-list park for many people with beautiful theming and attractions such as Baron (the dive coaster) and some beautifully themed dark rides.

Efteling has its own bus-stop and whilst it is only 55 minutes drive from Eindhoven it can also be accessed via a train followed by a bus. This journey takes around 1 hour and 25 minutes and was the route I took back in 2023.

Starting at Eindhoven Central station you’ll want to take the Intercity train heading towards The Hague Central Station. At Tilburg it’s time to get off the train and find the nearby bus stop (which is right outside the station).

You’ll then get the 300 Bus towards Den Bosch via Efteling and get off at Efteling right outside the park.

This journey was easy to do and all the public transport took card payments, the machines at the station could be translated to English and bus drivers spoke English too. The total train cost was around £16 per person and bus £7 per person which still makes driving more affordable but still a perfectly reasonable option.

You can plan journey’s via the Arriva website.

Getting to Toverland from Eindhoven

Toverland might not be quite as well-known as Efteling but if certainly worth a visit. Toverland boasts a good mix of indoor and outdoor attractions which is perfect for wetter days. Toverland has a fantastic B&M wing coaster, a really fun indoor log flume, Troy, a wooden coaster and the unique Maximum’ Blitz Barn.

Once again the journey involves a train and a bus and will start at Eindhoven Central Station. This journey takes around 1 hour 40 minutes compared to just under an hour by car. This time you will get the Intercity train heading towards Venlo where you will get off at Horst-Sevenum station and walk to the bus stop which is close to the station.

Next, it’s onto the bus! Bus 79 will take you to Toverland, Sevenum bus stop which is also outside the park.

Once again, this journey was easy to do with card payments being accepted throughout. The cost of the train was around £23 per person and the bus around £5 per person.

The best place to plan this journey is via the 9292.nl website.

Should you use public transport to get to Toverland and Efteling?

Public transport in the Netherlands is excellent, reliable and comfortable and is a really viable option. It’s certainly not the cheapest and if you’re travelling from the UK then driving might save you money however, the busses and trains work well and get you right to the park!
