Is Lightwater Valley up for sale or sold?

After spending the last few years turning Lightwater Valley into a shadow of its former self by removing anything remotely thrilling it appears The Brighton Pier Group might have sold or be trying to sell Lightwater Valley.

Posts this morning suggested it had been up for sale with Newmark with a guide price of £3,000,000 and brochures have since been shared on the Sneakycoasters Facebook page.

Whilst the listing has been withdrawn it’s unclear whether this is because a sale is underway or because there hasn’t been enough interest.

Since purchasing the park in 2021 The Brighton Pier Group have set their mission to make it a park aimed solely at families which included the destruction of The Ultimate and the removal of most thrilling rides at the park. The £3,000,000 price tag compared to the £5,000,000 they paid for it would suggest this hasn’t been going well especially less than 5 years later.

I guess we wait to hear if the park has been sold or what The Brighton Pier Group have in store next but, with rumours of Merlin trying to sell the Legoland Parks and the recent sale of Pleasurewood Hills by The Looping Group it’s certainly an interesting time for UK Theme Parks.
